The Reason For The Season

12 Dec

I swear, it always seems like forever has come and gone twice when I finally have a few quiet moments to either update my blog, write a post or upload a YouTube video. At any rate, if the falling cyber snow is any indicator, Christmas time is fast approaching, and with it, the opportunity to reflect our lives, our goals, what we have accomplished and have yet to do this year (and in the next), and to embrace friends and family during this festive time of year.

With that, I am wishing each of you a wonderful holiday season and reminding you that through it all, to keep CHRIST in Christmas and love in your hearts this December!

Love you! *Mwah*

What’s In My Bag?

23 Feb

This started out as a YouTube trending post, but completely ended up as a therapeutic purse-cleaning session.

Just think, if I stay this motivated, my next video upload will likely be, “Clean The Baseboards With Me!”

The Fanny Pack Husband Tag

23 Dec

In addition to the multiple blogs that I subscribe to and enjoy reading, as well as my moderate addiction to Social Media, I am unashamed to admit that I also have a minor love affair with YouTube.

Whether it’s fashion, hair, makeup, politics or popular culture; I LOVE watching the multitude of videos that people all over the world upload to YouTube.  I’ve even drank some of the social video crazy juice and have been regularly uploading vids as well, the most fun of which has been a two part Husband Tag video that I was surprisingly able to get The Honey to voluntarily participate in.

So, if you’ve ever wondered what exactly goes through my mind when The Honey cuts a fool, or if he tolerates my special brand of foolery, then check out these amusing videos that give a little insight into our life, love and relationship.

Planking, Parkour and the 13-Year-Old Daredevil

6 Sep

Decompressing after a long day at work, my nephew approached me carefully this evening to ask if I would check his homework.  As he joined me on the couch, we began an easy discussion about his school day, his grades and his classes, but the conversation quickly took a random and a quirky turn.

“Tee Tee, I think I want to try parkour, and I also think it would be cool if we went planking…like in Walmart.”

Blink. Blink. Blink.

Yeah, that was me with a dumfounded look on my face, trying to figure out if my kid was somehow telling me in teen-speak that he was experimenting with some sinister pharmaceuticals. But alas no, after further probing, I found out to my relief that he was just being…well a kid, wanting to do silly kid things.

For those of you like me who do not keep up with the various nonsensical phenomena that set the internet ablaze, here’s a quick lesson:

  1. Planking is an activity consisting of lying face down in an unusual or bizarre location. When “planking”, your hands must touch the sides of the body and your feet must remain pointed.  You must also have a photograph taken of you in your planked position.  The more unusual the location, the better.
  2.  Parkour is the physical discipline of training the body to navigate from point A to B and overcome any obstacle within one’s path by adapting one’s movements to the environment.

Now, after my nephew explained more fully what the activities actually entailed, I did recall having been impressed with parkour back in 2006, thanks to that uber-athletic dude (Sébastien Foucan) in the James Bond movie, Casino Royale.  Then of course, he had to ruin things by YouTubing both parkour and planking so that I could get a visual understanding of what he one day aspired to be able to accomplish thanks to body control.

Let’s just say that effective immediately, this kid has been instructed to find some new hobbies.

Again With The Beautiful People

While I can’t say that I am a fan of Chris Brown’s now infamous domestic behavior or his latest shenanigans, I do admit to being a lover of this song.  I love even more, the acoustic cover version of it as performed by the YouTube youngin’ “Calling Milton” (although I’d have given anything for him to have recorded his performance anywhere else than in front of his grandma’s 70’s styled bathroom shower curtain).

Check him out here and see what I mean.
